Buddy the Rat

So who is that guy?  That furry little big-ear scratching dude posing for the picture in front of a Barbie mansion?  That is buddy, the rat.  He is my computer savvy, oh so knowledgable and wise Info Rat.  It seems when he is near, just in the general area, I am able to solve the most complex computer related problems.  He doesn’t really say much, it’s just his aura I suppose.

Lost my Kids

I am a 36-year-old father with two daughters ages 7 and 9.  I have managed to lose my kids twice since their conception.  Yes, Moms, I actually misplaced, as in, completely had no idea where my kids were.

Grilling Out in the Florida Freezing Rain

Yep, that’s right.  We have had well over a week of consistently cold weather here in Central Florida, and it has yet to back off.  We had a scheduled birthday party planned for a while; friends and family over for my girlfriends daughter’s 10th birthday.  Needless, to say, I was tasked with the responsibility of head-grille chef dude.  This is a self appointed position.  I enjoy the slave-labor of producing waves of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for guests.  It is unfortunate that I don’t get to tend to a dozen wild and crazy children during this labor intensive endeavor.  Oh, and of course, I miss out on the bombardement of small talk, anecdotes, and consistent ‘how’s life’ questions from parental units.  It’s tough, but someone has to do it.

Egg Nog Heath Bar Drop Cookies Recipe

Last night I was craving cookies, but as usually, I had none to devour.  What did I have in the kitchen?  I had a little Bisquick, some Hungry Jack Pancake Mix, Some brown and white sugar, egg nog, and some more stuff….hmmm…  I came up with some decent cookies!  Egg Nog Heath Bar Cookies to be exact.  If you have some or all the ingredients, fill free to mix it up a little (no pun intended).  I didn’t measure anything, i basically added 3 parts mix to 1 part sugar and then added enough liquid till the dough had the consistency I was looking for.  The rest was by taste, but as a guide, follow this as roughly as you would like.

OK, real quick, my recipes typically aren’t your standard recipes.  Why?  Well, its been done.  I see no point on adding a recipe that has been done before.  A Google search will offer thousands of recipes, with hundreds of variations.  So I plan to only concentrate on a few things:

Well we just returned home from the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans game.  It marked game 15 of the 2009 season, and without some kind of mathematical miracle, the end of Miami’s playoff hopes.  I would say I was completely disappointed, but this is not the case.  I played some ball in highschool, been to a couple of bowl games, but this was my first NFL game.  Seated just behind and to the left of the goal posts, watching the game in person was 10 times better than viewing on any Widescreen HD Plasma LCD 1090i 16:9 ratio thingamagiger.
